So The Wait Is Over July 22, 2013

Finally, the heatwave in the UK is over. It’s lasted about three weeks? Actually I think it was warmer in 2006 as we had decent weather from May until early October but I won’t let that get in the way of a decent tabloid headline. As for the other matter, the birth of the third in line to the throne, the wait is also over. To be honest, another day of Kay Burley on Sky News from eight til late would have sent me over the edge. Nevertheless, congratulations to the Royal couple.

Post Script: Please don’t think I’m being unduly sour on Kay Burley. She’s had a tough job reporting the news on what was a very thin brief. I’m amazed she managed to fill the available air time without any actual events from taking place! Moreover, I thought it was very kind of the Royal couple to answer questions from the world’s media, especially at a nerve racking moment as taking one’s child home for the first time.
