Quote of the Week W/E 15 November 2013

We haven’t had a ‘quote of the week’ for sometime, so without further ado.

Surprise, surprise, I’ve been on the telephone to numerous recruitment consultants this week. I felt I ought to follow-up on a few irons in the fire, show willing, etc. To this end, I called a recruiter who had submitted my details for a role. Saying this, I hope they had submitted my details. Nevertheless, a brief conversation followed. I casually asked if any feedback had been received from the employer, to which the answer was:

“I haven’t checked”.

That’s sweet. No rush, in your own time. I wish I could be so blasé about jobs and placing candidates. I know most jobs can become monotonous but when it comes to people’s livelihoods, I would appreciate a little more interest, even if it’s feigned.
