I don’t wish to denigrate the achievement of our Olympians but can this be the end of it? You’ve had your medals, had the London parade but please I’ve getting to the stage where I don’t want to know anymore. Yes, you will get gongs from Her Majesty the Queen, and will all appear on the BBC Sports Personality of the Year programme in December for yet more applause and platitudes but life has to go for the rest of us and I need a job. Sadly, I won’t be able to cycle, run or row myself into a job as funnily enough, there isn’t much call for these skills in the real world. Thank your for commitment but now can you give it a break!
